Age 34. Bowled from the age of 3 to about 18. Fell back in love w/ bowling this year.

Dustin Smith I didn't record myself, but I will next time. I wasn't necessarily double tapping these so I could probably adjust for better wiggle room.

I noticed I was quite a bit different on your numbers for the 10 pin (several boards right for me) I watched the JR Pro shop vid with Frankie Lavoie and he said his 7 pin was 25/25. I tried this and I went in the left gutter about 2/3 down the lane so I moved 5 right.

I started to notice my numbers were always a bit right of others. My main culprit for this might actually be my form. You can definitely see it in my review videos posted, but I do not have my arm nice and tucked properly like you do. My arm is hanging out to the right and I'm typically on the side of the ball (weak upper right quadrant release). I am wondering if this accounts for why my targets are to the right.

I just finished reading Mark's book, and I have started trying to incorporate the timing. I am wondering if once I'm nice and tucked if my numbers will start to move left.

Dustin Smith I found an alley near me that let's you put out custom spares and how many attempts you want. I actually decided to just become an arrow looker (at least for spares). I practiced, 7s 10s 6s and the bucket. I tried some 2-8s but I went 0-6 on those. I was going to ask on sport, do you shoot the 2-8s or 3-9s with a spare ball? I was not having success at all to the point I was thinking maybe those should just be hooked at.

Dustin Smith Thanks Dustin! These are great starting points. I personally love spare shooting. I went yesterday and practiced for 2 hours and I did a ton of 10 pin practice in doing it. I did split it up with regular games though. I might bring a notebook just to track what I do and don't like.

Dustin Smith Ugh, I'd better get started w/ the left side spares then. I'm going to give sport a shot this summer. If I do well with it, I'm going to try to start doing some regionals.

Dustin Smith That's awesome. Are you using a spare ball for your left side spares as well? I am so uncomfortable not hooking at those because I have such a lazy left side spare routine currently. It works on a THS so it's hard to want to change it but I know on sport it would be awful.

Very cool! I think the laser training would be a good idea for me for getting better at spare angles. Especially looking at the foul line because it's not very common. I have always just operated on muscle memory for these with my strike ball, but I've wanted to start developing a spare targeting system for bowling on sport w/ a spare ball.

I was doing 35/20(@ foul line) at first and I kept missing. I moved it to about 22 and started hitting pretty consistently. But I did also notice a 5 board drift for me to the right 100% on my slide step.

Thanks for tips!

What are your stand/target numbers for your ten pins?

I got a spare ball for the first time, and I've been practicing 10 pins. I am trying to develop a better targeting system. I am a foul line looker, but I wanted to get a feel for what's typical.

Daniel Conseen omg that's awesome, but also sounds like a good turnout if there's 8 on a pair. we only usually get to 4-6 on a pair.

Daniel Conseen oh wow that's very tough. Did the lanes break down much? I just bowled on a longer pattern but the volume was much lower and it broke down after game 3. And it was an 8 game day.
